Lauren Rengen, MSN, FNP - BC
MEET THE FOUNDER
Lauren Rengen is the founder of Spruce Medical Aesthetics and a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with more than 27 years of healthcare experience. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about combining science, education, and compassionate care to help patients look and feel their best.
What truly sets Lauren apart is her unwavering commitment to mastering the art and science of medical aesthetics. She has pursued extensive advanced training with some of the world’s most respected educators and innovators in aesthetic medicine. Her education includes advanced mentorship and hands-on training with internationally recognized experts including Nicola Lowrey, a leader in complication management and advanced injection techniques; Dr. Sebastian Cotofana, one of the world’s foremost authorities on facial anatomy; Vanessa Lee, RN, internationally recognized for pioneering modern facial balancing techniques; and Dr. Leonie Schelke, a global expert in ultrasound-guided aesthetics and facial safety.
Lauren has invested hundreds of hours in advanced education focused on facial anatomy, ultrasound-guided aesthetics, vascular safety, facial balancing, regenerative medicine, biostimulatory treatments, and evidence-based injection techniques. She believes exceptional aesthetic outcomes begin with an in-depth understanding of anatomy, aging, and patient safety—not simply learning where to place a syringe. This dedication allows her to provide thoughtful, individualized treatments grounded in the latest scientific evidence.
Before opening Spruce Medical Aesthetics, Lauren spent more than two decades caring for patients in primary care and family medicine while also serving as a college nursing instructor, educating the next generation of nurses. That foundation continues to shape her philosophy today: every consultation is centered on education, transparency, and empowering clients to make informed decisions without pressure.

A lifelong resident of Central Pennsylvania, Lauren is proud to serve the community where she was born and raised. She is also passionate about supporting fellow women entrepreneurs and believes that successful businesses thrive when they lift one another up. Whether collaborating with local businesses, mentoring, or celebrating the accomplishments of other women in business, Lauren is committed to fostering a strong and supportive community.
Outside of Spruce, Lauren enjoys spending time with her two children, family, and friends. She loves relaxing with a great cup of coffee and her Golden Retriever, Leo. She understands firsthand the challenge of balancing family, career, and personal wellness, which is why she strives to create an environment where every client feels welcomed, heard, and genuinely cared for.
Lauren continues to travel throughout the United States to train with the world’s leading experts, ensuring Spruce Medical Aesthetics remains at the forefront of safe, ethical, and innovative aesthetic medicine. Her mission is simple: to provide the highest standard of patient care while helping every client achieve natural, confident results through education, artistry, and uncompromising safety.

With enthusiasm for exceptional service, Marisa is dedicated to making every visit a positive experience. Drawing from over 20 years of experience in leading membership organizations, she approaches her role as Client Experience Coordinator with genuine care, professionalism, and a commitment to exceeding expectations. Marisa loves being part of a team that ensures every client feels welcomed, confident, and supported throughout their aesthetic journey.
Outside of Spruce, Marisa is happily married to Paul and has two kids, Owen and Abigail. She enjoys baking bread for friends and family, lifting weights, playing golf, and caring for her many pets.
Penni Apostolidis
Shawna Bertram, RN
Shawna is a Registered Nurse with seven years of nursing experience and a strong clinical background in Level IV NICU care, where she developed an unwavering commitment to precision, safety, and compassionate patient care. Her experience caring for critically ill newborns has refined her attention to detail, steady approach, and ability to build meaningful trust with those she serves.
As she begins her career at Spruce Medical Aesthetics, Shawna is passionate about helping clients look refreshed, confident, and naturally beautiful. She believes in enhancing each person’s unique features through thoughtful, individualized treatment plans that prioritize facial balance and subtle, natural-looking results.
Shawna is beyond excited to bring her clinical expertise, gentle approach, and passion for aesthetics to Spruce.
Shawna’s appointment books will open this fall, and she looks forward to welcoming new clients and helping them achieve their aesthetic goals with confidence.
